Nusantara Cultural Week: A Joyful Journey Across Indonesia!
Last October 20-24, 2025, our school joyfully celebrated Pekan Budaya Nusantara — a week filled with colors, laughter, and cultural discoveries! Through exciting hands-on activities, performances, and exploration, our little explorers learned more about Indonesia’s rich traditions and diversity.
Highlights of the Week
Each day brought a new cultural experience! The students watched an engaging demonstration on how rambut nenek candy is made — and even took home a small bag to taste! They also enjoyed the Shopping Market, filled with various traditional Indonesian snacks. Another unforgettable moment was watching the Kolintang musical performance and the Nusantara Dancers, who gracefully performed dances from different regions across Indonesia.
Exploring the Provinces
Throughout the week, children from N1 to K2 traveled from one classroom to another, visiting rooms decorated as different provinces of Indonesia — from Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Bali, Nusa Tenggara, Maluku, to Papua! Each classroom represented its own province, such as North Sumatra, West Java, South Kalimantan, South Sulawesi, East Nusa Tenggara, Maluku, and Papua, beautifully showcasing unique landmarks, traditional houses, and cultural icons.
With their stamp booklets in hand, students collected stamps as proof of their visit, learned fun facts about each region, and took photos with 3D projects made by each class — from Borobudur Temple and Rumah Gadang, to Monas and Rumah Honai.
The Grand Finale: Performance Day
The week concluded with an exciting Performance Day, where each class proudly presented a traditional dance from their assigned province. It was a heartwarming moment seeing the children perform with confidence and joy, celebrating Indonesia’s cultural beauty together!
It was truly a week to remember — filled with learning, laughter, and the spirit of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika — Unity in Diversity!
