SERVICE LEARNING

Central to our ethos, Service Learning shapes well-rounded individuals for positive societal impacts. Aligned with the IB mission, it nurtures inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring youth committed to fostering a better, more peaceful world.

Secondary School students are required to take the SA (Service and Action) and CAS (Community, Action, Service) as an integral part of our education curriculum, designed to foster a sense of responsibility, compassion, and active citizenship among our students. The program encourages students to engage in meaningful community service, develop personal and interpersonal skills through action-based projects, and reflect on their experiences to gain deeper insights into their contributions and growth. By integrating SA & CAS into the educational journey, we ensure that our students are not only academically proficient but also socially conscious and proactive in making a positive impact on society.

The alignment of Tzu Chi School's CAS program with the Tzu Chi Foundation's extensive social initiatives significantly enhances the students' ability to execute their projects effectively. For instance, our in-house recycling depot provides a ready platform for students to engage in recycling projects, making it convenient for them to contribute to environmental sustainability efforts. Additionally, the foundation's established disaster relief programs, charity drives, and community outreach activities offer ample opportunities for students to participate and learn from real-world experiences. This synergy between the school's educational objectives and the foundation's humanitarian missions ensures that students can easily find meaningful and impactful SA & CAS activities, thereby enriching their learning and fostering a lifelong commitment to service and compassion.
