Established by Master Cheng Yen in 1966, Tzu Chi Foundation embodies:

Kindness, Compassion, Joy, & Selfless Giving

With principles of sincerity, truth, faith and honesty, the organization, guided by Buddhist teachings, focuses on charity missions. Over 50 years, it has grown globally with diverse members of various socio-economic economic backgrounds, fostering a symbiotic relationship between the financially fortunate and those in need. Tzu Chi’s charitable footprint spans health, education, humanistic (Ren Wen) culture, disaster relief, bone marrow initiatives, environmental activities, and community assistance. Transcending borders, Tzu Chi has become a beacon of global compassion.

With the principle of “To save the world through compassion,” Tzu Chi Foundation extended its presence in Indonesia through Tzu Chi Indonesia Foundation in 1994. Years of dedicated charitable endeavours in Indonesia Tzu Chi established itself as a benevolent and trustworthy institute; expanding its repertoire of good works into education and established Sekolah Cinta Kasih Tzu Chi Cengkareng in 2003. In 2011, Tzu Chi School – PIK, SPK (Satuan Pendidikan Kerjasama) was founded and continues to gain traction and reputation as an excellent educator.

  1. To educate the young generation with the spirit of universal love, compassion, and a joyful heart; to realize the importance of a ‘values’ education, nurturing a school community with strong moral, ethical and humane character, that can contribute selflessly to society.

  1. To provide highly-trained and experienced educators, who are loving, confident, patient and resilient to work with all members of the school community as partners in education.
  1. To create a clean, safe, healthy and welcoming school environment that is conducive to teaching and learning, well-being and holistic development of the learners.
  1. To promote quality education beyond the classroom by encouraging community participation through voluntary actions.
