Nature is our best friend, and our lives depend on it. For this reason, we need to show our love to nature with actions that begin with ourselves. The Jingsi Aphorisms tell us that everything from protecting the Earth to doing good for humankind starts with ourselves.

In April 2021, the Early Childhood Department hosted our first kindergarten virtual competition with the theme: Love Yourself, Love Nature. Through this event, kindergarten students were invited to express their love for nature through creative actions. The competition was open to K1 and K2 students. There were 167 students from 21 schools, including schools from outside Jabodetabek, who participated in this event.

All participants competed in various competition categories such as solo singing (in Bahasa Indonesia and Mandarin), nursery rhymes reading (in English and Mandarin), storytelling (in English), and Jingsi Aphorism coloring & drawing competition. The competition was held virtually due to the pandemic situation. Participants performed and created their works from home and sent their performance videos and artwork to the competition committee online from 29 March to 19 April 2021.

The winners from each category were announced on 28 April 2021 during an online session via zoom. The audience was excited to find out the winners of this competition. Despite the tough competition, some of the Tzu Chi students successfully came as winners in several categories.

We would like to congratulate all of the winners and participants for their outstanding effort. We hope that students will continue to show their love of nature through creative actions. Love yourself, love nature!
