KIDPUBLISH STORYTELLING FESTIVAL

Sophie Tjandra, our K2 Harmony student, loves reading story books. During her free time between classes, she is often seen enjoying her time reading in our Reading Centre.

She has a good understanding of what she reads, as she is able to retell the story to others using her own words with fluency.

Out of 13 participants, Sophie was selected to join the Finale Show, which was held in Plaza Senayan on September 13, 2019. She told the story "The Greedy Queen Bee" very nicely which got her to win the second place at the competition. Congratulations Sophie, you did a great job!

PRIMARY SCHOOL: STUDENT-INVOLVED CONFERENCE 2019: I GOT THIS
This term’s Student-Involved Conference (SINC) ushers a year of goals and dreams for Primary 1 to Primary 6 students. The theme urges the children to assess their current selves and identify areas of strength and growth. Drafting goals may be easy but pursuing to realise them is another story. In front of their parents, students presented their reflection, commitments, and aspirations for the future. From winning a spelling competition, being the top reader in class, to achieving higher scores in Chinese, our students did not let their present weakness dampen their enthusiasm. After all, everyone has unlimited potential.
SECONDARY SCHOOL: TZU CHI SCHOOL DELEGATION WINS BSJMUN 2019
On September 28–29, 2019, four Tzu Chi School MUN delegates joined the British School Jakarta Model United Nations Conference (BSJMUN) 2019 at British School Jakarta. Our Grade 10 students, namely, Michael Denise, Bhimraj Bhuller, Hans Tengkono, and Edward Khoo Hartono were members of the Disarmament and International Security Committee. Each delegate took home not only a heightened experience at debating and improved argumentation skills, but also a new set of friends and acquaintances who share the same interests and passions. MUN conferences provide an avenue for young minds to gain an awareness and adopt important attitudes for their lives and the people around them. As the conference concluded, Tzu Chi School delegation received two distinctions for active and outstanding participation in the conference. Michael Denise was Tzu Chi School Delegation Wins BSJMUN 2019 awarded the Best Delegate for the General Assembly 1 Committee, while Bhimraj Bhuller as an Honourable Mention delegate in the same committee.
