Signing of the MoU between Tzu Chi School and Tzu Chi Hospital
On May 18, 2021, Tzu Chi School signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Tzu Chi Hospital to improve the health services for their stakeholders. The agreement includes dental, eye and health checks for students and routine medical check-up for staff and teachers. Tzu Chi School’s director, Sudino Lim, S.E., M.M., said, ”We have more than 2,800 students and thousands of parents. One of the daily issues we face daily is around healthcare. The question is how to improve not only our students, teachers and staff’s health, but also their families’. That’s why we need to cooperate with hospital in term of health referrals and educations.”
Different groups of students require different approaches. Besides routine medical checkups, younger students need profession education while secondary students need to know what to expect if they are continuing to medical education in a higher level. Sudino Lim also mentioned that Tzu Chi School will invite doctors to share knowledge or hold seminars on various diseases and healthy lifestyle. This is a very important part of life education.
dr. Gunawan Susanto, Sp.BS, Tzu Chi Hospital’s President Director said that Tzu Chi Hospital medical team wanted to be able to help Tzu Chi School provide a better healthcare for their stakeholders. “We are located next to Tzu Chi School, so if there are health problems, it can be handled quickly.”
This Memorandum of Understanding is in line with Tzu Chi Hospital's mission to build a network of humane health services to all people in the health sector. Later the hospital will be served by friendly Tzu Chi volunteers, who will provide invaluable support for medical staff, as well as emotional support to patients and their families.
