One of Tzu Chi School’s graduates, Giovanni Natasha was accepted at Boston University, which ranked 74 in the world, to study Media Science. Natasha’s journey to complete her Diploma Programme (DP) was not all rainbows and butterflies, but her IB experience has taught her a lot of good things, and it played a major role in helping her to get accepted into a few prominent universities, ‘IB is globally recognised, so it made me stand out among other applicants. I applied around late last year and thankfully was accepted into a couple of universities.’

Natasha also expressed how IB’s creativity, activity, and service (CAS). It helped her a lot to meet the university's requirements. Universities are not only looking for students with strong academic skills but also ones who pursue their own interests outside the classroom.

One of other things Natasha found useful from IB is time management, ‘The IBDP taught me the importance of time management, I used to procrastinate but IB taught me it is not wise to do so as it’s better to be prepared,’

For students who are currently striving to complete their IBDP, Natasha thinks it’s best to keep your mind open to learn new things and face challenges. ‘I think a few examples of the common challenges faced by students is procrastination, improper time management, and a lack of motivation. Try to find activities for you to turn to and enjoy when you feel burned out. Also communicate with your peers, teachers or counselor if you need to talk something out,’

One last message from Natasha is, It’s important for students to not only prioritize their studies but also care for their personal well-being.
